  10.  AB    OBJECTIVE: To assess the survival probability of perinatal HIV acquired
  11.        infection on children, after the onset of AIDS-like signs or symptoms,
  12.        in Kinshasa, Zaire. METHODS: As a part of an HIV vertical transmission
  13.        study conducted at Projet SIDA, we implemented a retrospective data
  14.        review on 92 perinatal HIV-infected children (GpI) by contrast to 92
  15.        others born to HIV(+) mothers but not infected (GpII) and controls
  16.        (GpIII) born to HIV(-) mothers. RESULTS: Attributable risk of dying by
  17.        symptoms and by HIV serostatus TABULAR DATA, SEE ABSTRACT VOLUME.
  18.        CONCLUSION: The HIV-infected children were 2 to 10 fold-higher at risk
  19.        of AIDS-like signs/symptoms than the two others groups. The HIV-infected
  20.        children management should be carefully organised.
